We are scheduled to meet on Thursday afternoon. Since Keith is running his web class from 12:30-2pm, would you like to meet on Fridays instead at 12:30 after lecture in the Postgrad room?

Thanks,

If you have not already done so, please upload your pictures and your personal blurbs onto google docs. Which means stop photoshopping your photo cristian and send it already!
Thanks!

Meeting Friday the 13th

Meeting this Friday the 13th at 12:30 at Weatherspoons (spelling?) across the way from LCC.

We will look at the risk factor analysis, revisit our aims and objectives, have feedback, review the brief to address what we may have yet to consider, and evaluate where we are in relation to the deadline.

If you wan to add anything to our agenda, email me or post a comment to the blog.

Write in your preferred person

I think we should write in the preferred person and say what we like. It is a personal statement as it is. Do what you are inspired by.

when we write about ourselves

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask you whether we shall write in first or third person when we write the text about ourselves for Perspective(s).

Risk Analysis

This morning I woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow. How many inches or centimeters I do not know, but it is above my ankle height whichh I am deducing is a generous amount for this region of the world. With this said I am unable to travel in today. The weather report is not very promising for Friday either but hopefully it will relax so I can get in...

Can someone take notes of the meeting so we can then type up minutes? I am happy to type them up if someone writes them.

Image Upload Test

Images can be uploaded to the blog simply. If you are still interested, let's review it at the next meeting. Oh yeah! This is a Renoir.

Documents are up for your viewing pleasure

Hello everyone,

We have not been using the blog as much as I hoped we would. Let's try and improve this for communications sake. :-)

So, in case you have not noticed you inbox filling up, I have uploaded all the meeting agendas and minutes to date. From this point forward agendas for general meetings will be up the evening before our Thursday meetings and minutes will be posted by the following Saturday.

Please have a look at the agenda or print it out so we can follow along. I am going to try and get us some printer paper for room W212 so we can print out copies before the meeting starts.

Also there are a few additional "minutes" that had no home but are good for everyone to be aware of. These include:

  1. I spoke with Gill Davies regarding copyright and she confirmed that permission via email is sufficient as long as we have a hard copy for our files.
  2. A Contributor page will now follow the Table of Contents page
  3. We will have a subscription page on the Inside Back Cover
  4. If we have not already, let's get our images on memory sticks/pens and get them to design asap

That is it for now.
See you tomorrow for a action-packed theoretical meeting at 1:00PM.

Art Section Update

Hi guys
I just wanna let you know what's going on Art section.

1. I'm working on review of Chinese Art exhibition in Saatchi gallery.
2. I'll contact an artist called Sigrid Holmwood with Beatice's help(thanks)
3. I'm contacting an artist who is a student in CSM. He's going to have an exhibition in CSM and tomorrow is the opening so I'm going there.

I'm a bit worried about 3. though in terms of not really fitting into "international" or "social concious" themes. Give me some opinion and if you haven't got any issue I'll proceed.
Thank you.

Feedback on interview questions

Hi,

I've been going through different questions to ask Lotta, my friend who has worked for Ecpat. Please take a look and get back to me if you have any questions that you think I should add. She's a good friend so if some of the questions seem a bit vague or strange it is probably because I already know a lot about her work already and just want her to answer the questions in her own words...

It would be really helpful if you think of any more questions. I plan on emailing her tomorrow evening.

Thanks, B

THE QUESTIONS:

What were your initial incentives for joining Ecpat?

You have been on the international board for the past two years as the youth representative. How important is it to the organization that that specific youth representative is a member of the board? How does it affect the organization?

What did your work entail?

Did your ambitions change over the years in Ecpat?

What other types of jobs do people have within Ecpat?

Are the people in Ecpat mostly your age or is the age-span wider? What backgrounds do people have? And how does their various backgrounds affect the work within the organization.

Have there been any important changes, for the worse or for the better, in the trafficking scene the past two years?

You are a political science student at Uppsala university in Sweden, have you been able to use your experiences from Ecpat in your studies, or the other way around?

What has been your biggest achievement during your time in organization?

What frustrates you when working for an organization like Ecpat?

What have been frustrating issues that you have had to deal with in your work?

What are the advantages of working in an organization such as Ecpat?

Second Posting

I am hoping with this post, you will all be sent an invitation to participate.

Communication Stage Complete

Hello Perspective(s),

Our communication stage is near completion. All we need now is Christian and Zhen to sign up for gmail and we are golden.

I established our email. It is perspectives.global@gmail.com. All other variations were already taken. This can be used on all postings, fliers and as a 'professional email' for the group during the project. I will email the password separately so we can all check it.

I have created a calendar with initial deadlines and project space that has been allocated. I believe we can all add to it as needed. I would like to add a few social events that might potentially be relevant to our project. If anyone has any ideas, throw them up.

I will be in touch soon.
